My own story
I grew up and spent most of my twenties eating the Standard American Diet. When I entered my thirties I was diagnosed with thyroid disease (Graves). At the time I didn't realize the impact that nutrition, chemical toxins and stress could have in creating illness. I also didn't know that there were alternatives to following the traditional medical model for treatment for my illness so I chose the recommendations made by physicians. This thyroid condition provided me with my first wake-up call that my health was not optimal. It prompted me to really think about how I felt everyday.
I had suffered from chronic headaches, low energy, constipation, anxiety, depression and other mood-related issues for years. In addition, I had arthritic pain in my left shoulder and nails that were constantly peeling. Although I was at a healthy weight, these things pointed to someone not experiencing optimum health. I didn't want to take a multitude of pharmaceutical drugs for the rest of my life and started to look at my life and health very differently. This led me to embrace the idea that sound nutrition and natural remedies were a better answer for me.
I am passionate about sharing the health-promoting and healing properties of Young Living Essential Oils (YLEO) and clean eating. Time and time again, I've seen how these oils can help support health and heal the body. Plus, they are so simple to add into one's life. Most forms of illness are about toxicity and nutritional deficiencies. My health journey was one that happened one step at the time and YLEO and food have been the two major components in creating wellness and vitality for me.
I started exploring more about what really constitutes healthy eating and the dangers of everyday chemicals and their impact on health. The result was that changing the way I ate, changed the way I felt. Eating differently had a huge, positive impact on my health and all my chronic health problems went away. This gradual process of learning the true meaning of nutrition and wellness led to my desire to help and inspire others to do the same.
Eliminating chemical toxins and detoxing one's body are essential for good health and this was another piece of my wellness journey. YLEOs provide as easy way to detox the body and eliminate toxic exposure. In our home, we use chemical-free products for everything from cleaning the kitchen to personal care items to lawn and landscape care. We use Young Living Essential Oils for green living, personal care, detoxing and as a wellness toolkit because they are nature's first medicine. Our collection of oils basically serves as our go-to for supporting our immune systems, respiratory systems, supporting healthy sleep, for cleaning, making our own scrubs, sprays, and so much more. I once heard an organic farmer depict himself as "a caretaker of creation". This is a philosophy of care for the environment and our bodies that really resonated for me. I want to bring this same inspiration to others.
Education
Yvonne has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Siena College and received her Health Coaching Certification from the State University of New York at Purchase in partnership with the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) in New York City. She is also accredited with the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP).

Yvonne practices a holistic approach to health and wellness, which means that we look at how all areas of your life are connected. Does stress at your job or in your relationship cause you to overeat? Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercising? As we work together, we will look at how all parts of your life affect your health as a whole.
The approach is not to dwell on calories, carbs, fats, and proteins. It is not to create lists of restrictions or good and bad foods. Instead, it's to work with clients to create a happy, healthy life in a way that is flexible, fun and rewarding.
Together we’ll work to reach your health goals in areas such as achieving optimal weight, reducing food cravings, increasing sleep, and maximizing energy. As we work together, you’ll develop a deeper understanding of the food and lifestyle choices that work best for you and implement lasting changes that will improve your energy, balance and health.
No one diet works for everyone. Her goals as a Health Coach are to help individuals who are seeking to improve their overall health; providing guidance and support to help people increase their energy and vitality, reduce their cravings, resolve health problems, eat according to their bodies' needs and live a more balanced lifestyle. It is also to teach and guide about natural remedies and green living using essential oils to create a chemical-free, non-toxic, vibrant and INSPIRED life.
