What is Holistic Health Coaching and how does it differ from a diet or therapy?

 

Holistic Health Coaching focuses on you as an individual.  No one diet works for everyone and diets are generally very restrictive and cannot be sustained over time.  Health and wellness are not just tied to calories, carbohydrates, fats and proteins.  In our program together we will examine food and nutrition.  However, everything in your life is food.  Some food feeds your body, some food feeds your soul.  It's important to feel happy about your relationships with others.  It's important to move your body in a way that you enjoy and to have work that fulfills you.  It's also important to have a spiritual practice that works for you, whatever that may be.  These are the primary things that feed our lives.  Food that we eat is secondary, yet all these things affect one another. 



Who would most benefit from a Health Coaching program?

 

Clients who would benefit most from Health Coaching are those who are motivated to make themselves a priority and who recognize that their health is their greatest asset.  This program is for those who understand the importance of self-care as a precursor to doing anything in life, including caring for others.

 

Also, it is for clients who are suffering from an array of health problems and who are motivated to take charge of their health. 

 

It will be a benefit to anyone willing to make simple, small, incremental changes over time that will have positive and lasting affects on how they feel.  This program is about empowering yourself to understand that you have control over feeling fantastic, vibrant and healthy.

 

 

Who would NOT benefit from a Health Coaching program?

 

Clients who are looking for a quick fix or who are not willing to make changes.  If you are unwilling to try new things or you are unwilling to take responsibility for your health, this is probably not the best program for you.

 

 

How can I guarantee I'll get the most out of this program and reach my goals?

 

Success in the program depends on you and what you put into it.  Successful clients attend every session and follow through with recommendations.  It's important to be open and honest in sessions and through email communication between sessions and ask for support when you need it.  Again, there is no quick fix, but implementing simple, small changes over time can make a big difference.  My clients who have made this kind of committment to the program and themselves have experienced a variety of positive outcomes including increased energy, reduced cravings, weight loss, improved digestion, improved sleep, reducing chemicals in their lives and much more.

 

I'm a healthy eater, why would I want a Health Coach?

 

I used to think this way as well.  With my "healthy eating" I still suffered from chronic headaches, constipation in my 20s, depression, had nails that were always peeling and experienced quite a bit of arthritis pain in my left shoulder from a childhood injury.  I came to realize that I wasn't eating what was healthy for me.  Each body is unique and once I changed how I ate these problems all went away.  A Health Coach will help you figure out what's healthy for you and your unique body.
